brief

Landscaping companies are usually sold the same website: a truck on the homepage, a list of services, a quote form. Peak works at the other end of the trade, doing design-led installation for Hudson Valley homeowners buying a garden they will live in for twenty years. The site had to hold that ambition, carry the photography at full strength, and stay calm while it did.

approach

Astro with React only where movement is needed, so most of the page arrives as plain HTML. The build is photography-first: full-bleed plates, generous measure, and copy that talks about time spent in the garden. GSAP handles entrances and Lenis carries the scroll, both tuned slow enough to feel deliberate. A short opening sequence sets the tone before the first frame lands.

result

Shipped on Astro, so navigation is served as static HTML instead of re-rendering on the client each visit. The photography carries the site, and it is also where the page weight sits. Compressing it is the next pass.
